Do you charge for implementation?
Sift never charges implementation fees.
Are there discounts for not-for-profits?
Yes, there is a 15% discount for not-for-profits.
How will I be charged? What is a “Profile” vs. a “User”?
Sift charges based on “Users.” Each plan includes 100 Users. Additional Users can be added at a per-user fee (contact us for more information about pricing breakdowns for additional Users).
A User is someone who can login to Sift. They are able to edit their own Profile, view the Org Chart within Sift, and search for others in the organization via the Directory.
A Profile is automatically created for each employee in your data source within Sift, which will also be represented on the Org Chart. You may add unlimited Profiles to Sift, and are only charged for those you grant login access for (Users).
What are my payment options?
Sift agreements are for a standard term of 24 months with payment due at contract signing. Sift does offer discounts for longer term agreements. Please talk to our Sales Team for details.
I have a group of Users who need access to Sift, but I would like to have our full organization in the Org Chart. Do I get charged for having the full organization in the Org Chart even though only a portion of our organization needs access to Sift?
Sift only charges for the number of Users, or people with login access. So, for example, if your organization has 500 employees but only 100 of them need access to Sift as “Users,” you will only be charged for those 100 Users.
How am I charged when adding users during the term of the agreement?
If you go above the amount of Users contracted during your current term, Sift will invoice you for the difference between the current User increment and the next for the remainder of the current term. At the renewal date, your agreement will renew at the increment aligned to your current User count.

How secure is my data? Does Sift meet compliance requirements?
Sift takes the security and privacy of your employee data as our highest priority. You can learn more about our security and privacy posture here.
What is a custom attribute?
Sift’s employee profiles are the core of what we do, and profiles are very flexible to meet your organization’s needs. An attribute is a representation of a piece of employee information. “First name,” “Department,” and “Skills” are examples of attributes that we commonly see on an employee Profile. We provide many useful attributes on a Profile page by default, but Sift also allows your administrators to create custom attributes to make the Profile truly fit your company.
For example, if your people acquire industry certifications that are important to be included on their Profiles, this is a custom attribute as these certifications are curated and displayed on an employee Profile. These custom attributes are completely configurable and easy to set up on Sift.
Custom attributes can either be provided by one of your company data sources, or can be collected by Sift from your employees. We provide many different types to choose from, including single- and multi-select entries, autocompletes with constrained or free-form entry, and much more.
All attributes, including custom attributes, are searchable and filterable using Sift’s quick and powerful free-text search.
What counts as a source data integration?
Sift supports retrieving data from multiple internal data sources for employee information. This could be an HR system,Microsoft Entra ID (formerly known as Microsoft Azure Active Directory) Google Workspace (formerly known as G Suite), Okta, or a CSV (spreadsheet) file. For example, you could import some of your employees from an HR system, sync employees’ names and email addresses from Microsoft Entra ID and industry certifications from a CSV file via another internal system. Each separate employee data source you choose to integrate with counts as a source data integration.
Can you send messages within Sift?
Sift does not currently offer a native messaging or chat feature. Instead, we believe in streamlining work by leveraging Sift’s integrations with your existing communication tools, such as Microsoft Teams and Slack. We do not count these integrations and they are included on all pricing tiers.
