Every organization is different, and your org chart should reflect that. Our latest update gives you new ways to customize how your org chart looks and what information it shows. You can now create different views that work better for different situations, whether you're planning a meeting or checking team details. The best part? It's still as easy to use as before.
Introducing Card Customization
We're introducing a new refreshed card design for our Org Chart that gives users significantly more customization options for the information they see on each card. This new card type works alongside our existing cards (which aren't going away) to provide users with enhanced flexibility in how they view and interact with your people data.
As of today, you can now configure the org chart card to display the information that's important to your organization. Outside of the basic information – like name, job title, and team – you can toggle up to 10 additional attributes on the cards, including timezones, hire dates, and employment type. This enables your organization to present information crucial to your users' daily tasks.

Extended Card Style with Advanced Options
Our Product team has crafted an Extended card style that provides more customization options for the information displayed. You'll still have the ability to use the card layout that you know and love. Like our traditional cards, these also come in simple and advanced versions, giving you even more control over which attributes appear on each card.
Both card types can be customized through the Card Content button in the toolbar, allowing you to create a more condensed or expanded view depending on your needs. This flexibility means you can tailor your org chart to show exactly the information that's most relevant for your current task or viewing preference. With the upcoming Roles and Permissions feature, you’ll be able to add more sensitive attributes that only certain people will have access to.
Choose between the Extended or the Classic card style to fit your needs.
Adaptable Views for Every Use Case
With these various customization options, you can create org chart views that work best for different situations – whether you need a high-level overview for a presentation, a detailed view for planning purposes, or a focused view of a specific department or team. The combination of flexible card types, filtering options, and export capabilities means your org chart can adapt to whatever you need to accomplish.
High-Level Overviews for Strategic Presentations: When presenting to executive leadership, board members, or external stakeholders, a concise, high-level overview is paramount. This view typically focuses on departmental structures, key leadership roles, and the overall organizational hierarchy. By strategically omitting granular details, you ensure clarity and impact, allowing the audience to grasp the macro-structure and strategic direction of the company without being overwhelmed. This view is ideal for illustrating growth, highlighting new departmental integrations, or showcasing the top-tier leadership team.
Detailed Views for Operational Planning and Resource Allocation: For internal teams involved in planning, resource allocation, and project management, a more detailed view is indispensable. This involves displaying individual roles, specific reporting lines, and potentially even skill sets. Such a view facilitates a deeper understanding of team compositions, identifies potential bottlenecks, and aids in the equitable distribution of workloads. It can be instrumental in identifying skill gaps, planning for future hires, or reallocating resources for critical initiatives.
Focused Views for Departmental and Team-Specific Needs: Individual departments or teams often require a highly granular and focused view of their immediate structure. This view can highlight team leads, individual contributors, and specific project responsibilities within that particular group. It empowers team members to understand their position within the smaller unit, clarifies reporting relationships, and fosters a sense of belonging and accountability. For HR departments, this view can be invaluable for onboarding new hires, and managing internal transfers.
